McQueen's Tribute Video at The British Fashion Awards

Despite his untimely absence from the fashion world, the late Alexander McQueen was very much present at last night's British Fashion Awards in London. The designer—who already had 4 BFA honors to his name—was posthumously celebrated with the Outstanding Achievement Award, followed by a gorgeous video tribute directed by Nick Knight. The video, which includes an exclusive soundtrack by Bjork, highlights some of McQueen's most visionary and iconic creations with the same kind of otherworldly and ethereal aesthetic that so aptly characterized the late designer.

Shortly following McQueen's honor, Naomi Campbell, who was wearing an Alexander McQueen dress—one of two designed by the designer's successor, Sarah Burton—stood up to receive the night's Special Recognition Award. During her speech, she praised Burton: "I also want to thank Sarah Burton who made this dress for me," she said. "I got off the plane from New York and she'd promised to make me something but she didn't know what I wanted so she'd made me two!"
