Manolo Blahnik Teams Up with Marcia Patmos on Sustainable Shoe Line

Manolo Blahnik is going green this spring with the help of eco-conscious designer Marcia Patmos. The duo teamed up to create a new sustainable collection for spring under the label Marcia Patmos for Manolo Blahnik, made from features as eccentric as discarded Tilapia skins and cork, according to WWD.

The effort is Blahnik's first foray into the world of eco-fashion, though Patmos has long been striving to create sustainable products through her line, M. Patmos. As she told WWD: "I love bringing the idea of sustainability into the luxury market -- it doesn’t have to be limited to T-shirts and grocery bags.”

The collection will reportedly feature two different styles -- one flat and one high heel -- in a variety of shades. For the record: Discarded Tilapia skins aren't cheap -- these styles will retailing for nearly $900 a pair.
