Today: Jewelry Designer Laura Lobdell Throws West 10th Block Party

Jewelry designer Laura Lobdell celebrates her pup's birthday right, with a Black-and-White Ice Cream Social (with drinks!) along with jazz club and restaurant neighbors on West 10th.

The modus operandi for Lobdell's jewelry collection combines tongue-in-cheek fun with taking joy in the everyday, resulting in charming sterling silver renditions of guitar picks, match sticks and more, bursting from her teensy West Village boutique.  It seems only natural, then, that when struck with the penchant to throw a party for her dog, Xiao, who's also the shop's majestic overseer, she's expanded it beyond a few cupcakes.

Lobdell has recruited block neighbors Cafe Condesa and bobo for drink specials and Small's to supply the smooth jazz tunes.  Those who dress the black-and-white theme (which was created in honor of Xiao's own black-and-white coat) will get them a special on the Xiao4Now cocktail at bobo.

The Block Party centers on Lobdell's store at 183 West 10th Street, running 6:30-8:30PM.
