Kova&T Revamps Brand with the Classics

Many women will likely remember label Kova&T as a basics-centric line with a certain LA sensibilty. Well, five years after launching the label, design duo Christina Tang and Dasha Zhukova are hoping for renewed success by taking their brand back to those same classics for Fall 2011. Tang told WWD:

"For me, a lot of it happened after the spring 2011 collection where I had so many people in my ear telling me what to do -- that for fall I took a step back and said to myself, 'Why did I do this to begin with? What made us successful to begin with?'"

Her answer to that question: little black dresses, silk bodysuits, blazers, leggings, and denim with, according to WWD, unexpected updates in fabric, hardware and velvet stripes. Tang calls it "giving them something extra."

At the same time, the website will be relaunched at the hand of former Flaunt creative director Todd Tourso, with an image-rich, editorial vibe.
