Last Night: Jessica Simpson Previews Her New Denim Line

Last night, singer, actress, and apparel brand powerhouse Jessica Simpson hosted a pre-Fashion Week presentation party to launch first-ever fall denim line and sneak preview her Spring 2011 clothing designs.

Simpson's inner circle -- from sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and BFF Cacee Cobb, to her back-up-dancer-turned-makeup artist and interior designer -- served as models for the line that Simpson expressed "embraces every shape, size, and personality."

Simpson, wearing her own cinch-waist denim mini dress and platform slingbacks, emceed two informal stage presentations during the night's event. Between turns, she took time to chat with doting editors and (Jared, Joe Zee) and exclaim why she was so excited to incorporate a denim category to her brand.

"I am a Texas girl!" she reminded the audience before prompting DJ/brother-in-law Pete Wentz to, "Give the ladies something they could "strut to!"

Six silhouettes, priced from $49-$69, will retail online at JessicaSimpsonCollection.com and the 3,000-plus stores nationwide retailing Simpson's clothing, shoes, and accessories. Styles such as the Kiss Me Jegging and Forever and Skinny Malibus will hit right on the mark with Simpson's equally budget- and trend-conscious fans. (We accepted a trial pair of the Vintage Flairs to test for fit. Not our top style pick, but we have to admit, stretch factor was quite booty-lifting, indeed.)

No doubt, the girl's got a knack for connecting with consumers. We're predicting a mass-market hit.
