As part of the CFDA Awards, the organization commissioned photographers Inez and Vinoodh to create a series of portraits of the nominees and honorees, from nominated designers Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang to honorary award recipient Lady Gaga.
According to WWD, Inez really wanted to show a lot more than just the designers' faces in the portraits. Trey Laird, the creative director of the annual CFDA awards, told WWD:
"Inez tried to make everyone naked. That was the starting point and it went from there,” Laird said with a laugh. “There’s a little bit of skin this time -- more than normal,” as evidenced by a bare-chested shot of Wang.
Best of all, Laird reports that Marc Jacobs was all too willing to take his clothes off for the shots.
