It may have been a quiet week in terms of glitzy parties and celeb-studded events, but the stylish folks that stepped out amid the early spring damp and drizzle looked particularly lovely. We have to admit that Blake Lively looked outrageously awesome in the fiery feathered McQueen she wore to the CinemaCon Awards this week. The embellished red mary-janes made a nice compliment to a dress that requires bare-bones accessories.

Our all-around favorite of the week: the sweet cap-sleeved shift dress Michelle Williams sported to a Cinema Society screening of "Meek's Cut-Off."

Carrie Underwood donned an uncharacteristically intricate ensemble to the premiere of her first film, "Soul Surfer," in Los Angeles. Even with the platinum blond locks, the taupe tones of the dress seems to suit her.

Also at the Paper party, stylist Kate Schelter worked a minimalist white shirt-dress accented with a teeny-tiny square clutch. We're not sure what she keeps in there, but no doubt it's impossibly hip.

Designer Mandy Coon's outfits always balance edgy and sophisticated elements. The futuristic black leather dress she wore to Paper's "Beautiful People" party looked like something from a particularly good episode of "Star Trek."

The opening of Vivienne Westwood's first Los Angeles flagship attracted fashionable folk from all walks of life, but the most memorable (besides Miss Viv herself) was undoubtedly Christina Hendricks, who sported a ruffled black corset top with slouchy parachute pants.

Michelle Monaghan always puts together ensembles that are classic but still feel dynamic and fresh. The bright turquoise cocktail dress she wore to the New York premiere of "Source Code" featured a trailing asymmetrical skirt.

Hot pink hues are among our favorite trends of the season, and actress Necar Zadegan pulled the color off with unusual aplomb at the premiere of "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo" in New York.

Slouchy and chic, we loved this easy navy maxi dress on actress Bella Heathcote, who sported it to the opening of Cynthia Vincent's new New York flagship.

Actress Tammy Bianchard wore a deliberately retro-glam look to the premiere of her new Broadway show, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." The 1940's hair 'do and blue-gray mink stole made nice additions to the Old Hollywood look.

At the opening of "Monica Velour," SATC star Kim Cattrall looked almost conservative in a ruffled gray cocktail dress and waist-cinching black belt.
