Street Style: Elizabeth's Cool Ruby Red Kicks

We bumped into Elizabeth Doughty as she and her four-year-old son, Idris, headed to Soho's Farrow & Ball to pick up paint samples.

"He's my helper today," she laughed. Idris, meanwhile, had other ideas about their destination, attempting to pull his well-heeled mother into the nearby Scholastic Store.

The stylish NYC mom was sporting ruby red wedges from Sigerson Morrison -- a noble feat, considering Soho's treacherous cobblestones.

"I suppose I'd describe my style as ... kind of chic, but with a twist. I like to do something unexpected."

A single rolled-cuff, for example, made an interesting styling detail for her funky ikat-printed pants. "I'm not sure if these were meant as pajamas or not, but I don't care. They're great!"

We're convinced Dought is actually an early adapter of fall's "pajama-dressing" trend, and certainly inspired us to rummage through our PJ drawer for potential outfit accoutrement.
