Confirming rumors that started circulating this spring, Dolce & Gabbana designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana announced today that they would no longer produce D&G.
According to WWD, the contemporary D&G will be folded into the signature Dolce & Gabbana line in order to, Dolce and Gabbana said in a statement, give "even more strength and energy to our collections."
Indeed, the report indicates that the lucrative power of the D&G segment of the business may help breathe new life into the main collection. Retailers seem to have known of the restructuring move as far back as March, and were divided on the decision.
