CFDA Sends Five New York Designers to Paris, Including Prabal Gurung, Ohne Titel

The CFDA has selected 10 former Fashion Fund finalists for its inaugural "Americans in Paris" initiative.

The council will set up the designers in a shared showroom at Palais Royal's Galerie Joyce October 1-3, during Paris Fashion Week. Those presenting include Billy Reid, Eddie Borgo, George Esquivel, Gregory Parkinson, Monique Péan, Ohne Titel, Pamela Love, Prabal Gurung, Simon Spurr and Sophie Théallet.

According to the press release, in addition to the international exposure, the showroom will provide designers sales, marketing and media support to expand their burgeoning businesses. "We want to help Fashion Fund designers expand their international business and increase their presence outside of the United States, which is a key component to their success," said CEO Steven Kolb.

Tommy Hilfiger is underwriting the program, and will serve as guest of honor alongside the participating designers at a bon voyage cocktail party hosted by Diane von Furstenberg on September 30 in New York.
