Andy Roddick Designs a Line for Lacoste, Hopes It's Not “Tacky” to Wear it Himself

Andy Roddick has delved deeper into his six-year endorsement deal with Lacoste, designing a seven-style signature line of polo shirts, jackets and tennis shorts for Lacoste, WWD reports.

The pieces, which drop in stores worldwide July 1 and retail between $85-$185, feature a logo blending Roddick's signature and serve silhouette, along with traditional tennis stripes in an understated white, navy and teal color palette.

“On the tour we practically live out of a suitcase. When packing, function will always win over style, which is why I am so impressed with this collection,” said Roddick, who will wear the new line exclusively on court. “I never would have believed 10 years ago that I would have a signature collection with Lacoste.”

The player, who has time to focus on his clothing launch in the wake of an injury that benched him from the French Open last month, joked about showing off his new style, asking, "Is it tacky to wear your own collection all the time?" Lacoste would undoubtedly say, no.
