America's Next Top Model to Debut “Dream Come True” Fragrance at Target

There's no shortage of celebrity-inspired fragrances in the beauty market, but at the conclusion of its current "All Stars" season, America's Next Top Model will debut the first scent inspired by a reality TV show.

Developed exclusively for Target by Hatch Beauty, the scent -- dubbed "Dream Come True"
-- is meant to capture the emotive climax of an ANTM season finale when a winner is announced.

Clearly, since there's no literal foundation for a perfume based on a teary-eyed TV moment, its inspiration can be boiled down to a sugar-sweet interpration of what success might smell like.

Hatch Beauty creative director, Ben Bennett, explained the concept an interview with WWD:

"If you were announced as winner of the show, it would be an optimistic, sweet moment. In thinking about the customer, we know she loves fantasy. That is what the show is all about. We wanted there to be a very sweet, ethereal sensibility to the fragrance.”

WWD also reports that some of the process of making and promoting the fragrance will be documented in the show itself, including a launch party which models were asked to attend in bikinis.

Of course, the cynic in us can't help but speculate about a follow-up scent inspired by the show's (far more numerous) losing candidates -- "Dreams Dashed," perhaps, with sour top notes.
