Marc Jacobs' Bookmarc and an E-Commerce Site Slated to Open on September 15

Call it Marc Jacobs' Fashion Week Trifecta: both Bookmarc, his latest addition to his ever-sprawling Bleecker Street empire, and a new e-commerce site are scheduled to debut on September 15, the same day as the designer's Spring/Summer 2011 runway show.

Bookmarc will be the sixth installment in what is fast becoming the designer's west village retail kingdom. Located at 400 Bleecker Street, the space, formerly occupied by Biography Books, will keep its library-like ambiance, and sell books, t-shirts, trademark MJ knickacks, as well as other Bookmarc-branded products.

Though window signage posted earlier this year announced the opening of a new store this winter, the most recent news of its accelerated opening came on August 1, via Twitter, in which Jacobs' longtime partner Robert Duffy also voiced hopes of getting Brian Bowen Smith's book featuring pics of Marc Jacobs staff members onto shelves by then. Hot on the heels of New York Magazine's shout-out to the renaissance of indie bookstores throughout the city, the book shop's timing seems rather apropos.

In addition to Bookmarc and Marc Jacob's runway show—always guaranteed to be one fine frenzy—the designer will also round-out his Fashion Week three-pronged plan of attack with the debut of an e-commerce site for US-based customers.

To the hordes of MJ fans who can't get in to see his show on Septmber 15th, there's not just one, but two other reasons to marc, err mark, your calendars.
