Sure, nobody really needs two extra heels on their black pumps, but they certainly don't hurt.
For their Spring 2010 look book, the Stockholm-based lifestyle brand, Acne, showed their signature dirty-haired models sporting a variety of pumps and booties with not one, not two, but three spike heels. One can only imagine the sort of puncture wounds these babies would inflict if provoked -- in fact, these might be a match for Louise Goldin's spike heels for Topshop.
What we find so especially appealing about the black pump is that at first glance it looks like a totally unremarkable heel, the likes of which you'd find at Steve Madden or Nine West, and is just as easy to wear. But look twice and boom: you're a fierce footwear trendsetter without having to teeter in nine-inch platforms or shoes brandishing teeth (a la Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte). Thank you, Acne, for making your "high-concept" so approachable.
