The Row Spring 2011 Presentation Airs Online Tonight

After an eleventh-hour snag forced Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to postpone the NYC-based presentation of The Row's spring 2011 collection during New York's fashion week last month, the designing twins headed for Paris instead, where the collection made its debut last night.

The source of the collection's delay was a shipment of leather that never came—a cornerstone component to the line the Olsen sisters did not wish to compromise on, hence their retooled game plan comprising an appointment-only presentation overseas.

Though these kinds of production hold-ups happen every day in the fashion industry, the Olsens— perhaps very much aware of the scrutiny they're under as young, celebrity-turned-designers—chose not to chance it on a lesser fabric. It's the kind of situation that exemplifies the pair's overall design philosophy: quality over convention, and quietly doing things the way they believe is right.

For spring 2011, that translates to thoughtful, sublimely simple dresses, pants, blouses, suiting separates and solid knits in black, ivory and very pale pink, with a flawless execution and focus on detail.

Video footage of the presentation will go live at 7:30pm EST at Bing.com.
