This Weekend: Love Heals in Southampton

Q: Where can you chow down on South Carolina BBQ with Charlotte Ronson and Russell Simmons this Saturday? A: Southampton’s Polish Hall, where a who’s who gets beachy for a good cause.

The Love Heals event this Saturday in the Southampton hamlet of at Sagaponack is lots of things: a high point of the early-summer Hamptons social calendar, an opportunity with the likes of designer Charlotte Ronson, rapper Russell Simmons and a general who’s who of the Hamptons (including sponsors like Theory, Daily Candy and HBO), a place to find real South Carolina barbecue, and above all a heartfelt occasion to raise funds for a worthy cause. Love Heals was founded in memory of Alison Gertz -- a girl who died of AIDS at age 15 -- with the mission of educating America’s teenagers about the virus and how to protect themselves.

Love Heals will be held Saturday, June 20th from 7:30 to 11:00 pm at the Polish Hall at 230 Elm St. in Southampton. (Originally slated to take place at Luna Farm, the location has been changed due to the rainy weather. Tickets range from $250 ($300 at the door) to a VIP reserved Table for 12 at $4,500.
