The Shutter: Deathwatched Sheridan Square DONESKI

West Village: We all knew this shutter was a foregone conclusion, but it's still hard to see good chef go down. Sheridan Square, which opened in May after almost a year of delays and switched chefs to Franklin Becker when Gary Robins jumped ship in July, closed last night. FRANKLIN BECKER, who reached us by phone this morning: "The patient was lying on a gurney when I got there. I tried to resuscitate her but she was too far gone. It never had a chance...It was too much to overcome...We lost four mil. I couldn't in good conscience tell the owners to go another month." It's worth noting that she was, in fact, a goner long before Becker came in. He certainly didn't make it worse. The space is now for sale.
