The Build Out: Phase 2 At Brooklyn Bowl, Pt. 1

Welcome to The Build Out, a new series where we chronicle the construction of major venues, in this case Williamsburg's Brooklyn Bowl. Check in during the coming months for the stage and bar build out, and details on the Blue Ribbon outpost.

Williamsburg: Welcome back to Brooklyn Bowl, the 20,000 square foot space that Peter Shapiro and Charley Ryan are turning into a bowling/eating/drinking/music mega-venue right next to Brooklyn Brewery (and just blocks away from the nabe's first bowling alley The Gutter) out on 12th and Wythe in Williamsburg. The space right now is still pretty raw, and given their projection two months ago that they could open in ten weeks, they're significantly behind schedule. But then again, we expected that for a project of this scale.

The good news: the lanes are in. The upstairs ladies lounge (with a couple of spots for one way mirrors) is getting somewhere, and the restaurant construction creeps along. New opening projection: "hopefully in 2008." Click through for a tour of the restaurant and lounge. A gallery of the lanes is coming right up.
