NOODLING: Unless you’ve been living under a particularly unstylish rock, you know that David Chang is the reigning Culinary God of New York City. Starting today, you can get your sweaty mitts on “The Momofuku Cookbook” (Clarkson Potter, $40), named for the first eatery in the Changpire, and make the trademark ecstasy-inducing pork buns in your own home. Actually, given the outright lust this chef and his food inspire, we don’t even want to know how you’ll be using this cookbook. MISS THING: Things to know about Miss Lonelyhearts, a new addition to the L.E.S. boutique scene: 1) It features ready-to-wear designs from owner Jenny Yuen (including what she calls "good girl" dresses), best known for her ladylike-rocker handbags; 2) it also stocks goods from labels like Modern Alchemy and Digby & Iona; and 3) it has a man-bench clearly labeled "boy toy" so your poor bf/hubs knows where to park it. But this place, with its scrolly wallpaper and fun displays to poke about in, might be way more fun to visit solo. 250 Broome Street; 212-253-0560.
OY TO THE WORLD: With “Sex, Drugs and Gefilte Fish” in the name, do you even need us to go into detail about this event? Fine: It’s a launch for Heeb Magazine’s collection of essays from some of the funniest—and, yes, Jewish—writers and comedians today (e.g. Michael Showalter, Joel Stein), recounting personal tales of triumph and embarrassment (hanging out with porn stars on Christmas Eve, eating nachos with the Mossad).
