The Juan Maclean At Cameo

Dance, Punk: If you're still trying to make sense of life in a post-LCD Soundystem world, head to Cameo, where the D.F.A. label's The Juan Maclean (featuring LCD keyboardist and all around disco goddess Nancy Whang) drops a set on FRIDAY. $8 at the door. 11:45 p.m.

Hardcore: Brooklyn punk outfit Mr. Dream, often cited as a welcome break from the limp lo-f chillwave bands dominating the indie world, brings it fast and raw at Pianos on SATURDAY. The similarly noisey Yvette also plays. $12 tickets here. 8 p.m.

Word Up: The PEN World Voices Festival wraps up on SUNDAY with a celebration of Yale professor and famed literary critic Harold Bloom, who will reflect on his seminal work "The Anxiety of Influence" at the Celeste Barton Forum at the New York Public Library. $25 tickets here. 3 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every Friday by peeping Play's Weekend Bender.
