The Great Foodie Scavenger Hunt

Think you know your way around New York's culinary culture? Prove it. The Amateur Gourmet is staging a photo scavenger hunt where the goal is score as many points as possible. Points are scored by getting photos of yourself with as many NYC foodie items on the list as you can by Sunday night. The point system may take some navigation and is not for unititated or faint at heart. A photo of you in front of Babbo is worth 5 points. But you in front of Babbo with Mario Batali? An extra 25 points. A photo of you at Momofuku Milk Bar with a milk mustache is worth 10 points but you and David Chang both with milk mustaches at Momofuku Milk Bar is worth is an extra 10. And so on.

It's an awful lot of work yes, but there's a prize, and it's pretty good as far as getting prizes for doing things as enjoyable as eating sturgeon at Russ & Daughters while dressed as a sturgeon or scarfing a canoli at Madonia Brothers on Arthur Ave go. The winner gets two tickets to Tom Colicchio's "Toast to the Children" dinner and event at The Mandarin Oriental on April 7th which will feature fare from  Blue Smoke, Butter, craft, Dell'Anima, Double Crown, Insieme, The Little Owl, Momofuku Bakery & Milk Bar, Pearl Oyster Bar, Peasant, Perilla, Per Se, Porter House New York, Public and Tabla and wines picked by Paul Greico (who is the co-owner and sommelier of Hearth, Insieme and Terroir).
