Saks Fifth Avenue may cater to an elite income bracket every other day of the year, but expect its posh halls to look markedly different on Thursday when the Smith Westerns perform live.
In partnership with Rag & Bone, a trendy coed fashion label, the Chicago rock group will play in the Rockefeller Center store on March 10 at 8 p.m.
The ascendant troupe's well-documented young swagger and glam-rock chops should be a strange encounter in this context, but will follow a typically boozy fashionista reception at 6:30pm.
The Smith Westerns are well worth the trek uptown; their excellent recent sophomore album, Dye It Blonde (on HoZac Records), is poised to break through in a boisterous way this year. Admission to their haute couture debut is free with RSVP to rag&bone@saks.com.
