Sigmund Hawks Pretzel-Dogs at the Met

Tiny East Village bakery Sigmund Pretzel Shop rolled out a cart at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in December, but things got exciting just last weekend. Owner Lina Kulchinsky now hawks a Schaller & Weber hot dog on, what else, a pretzel bun. Kulchinsky explains why it took some time to settle in: "The biggest challenge was to design a different look that was reminiscent of our shop...but at the same time, stuff so much equipment in there!" Come Spring, she plans to open a second stand downtown on Bowling Green. Hit play for an introduction to her new street snack hybrid.

Sigmund Pretzelcart, Metropolitan Museum, 1000 Fifth Ave. South Steps: Tuesday through Sunday
