Scoop Converts Meatpacking Outpost into “Swing Store”

Scoop's former clearance space on Washington Street is taking a cue from the pop-up shops this season by transforming into a "swing shop" that will feature a rotating concept six times yearly.

The reimagined space is called Scoop After Dark and features an array of evening dresses, party shoes, and jewelry from designers that range from Vera Wang and Marc Jacobs to Erickson Beamon and Tom Binns. As WWD points out, however, the name of the space could chance once the merchandise completely turns over after January.

From the sounds of things, the space is going to act as a kind of testing ground for new collections and what Scoop shoppers are buying. As Susan Davidson, Scoop's President and CEO, explained, "We’ll take what we learn here and use that information to create outposts in our bigger locations."

The outpost is apparently even working up a place to host "open-see days," which would represent and incredible opportunity for fledgling local designers to get on the mega-chain's radar by meeting with buyers.

Scoop After Dark is located at 875 Washington Avenue.
