Producer: We're ‘Praying' For Christina Applegate

It’ll be “comforting” for Christina Applegate to participate in next month’s “Stand Up To Cancer” telethon, show producer Laura Ziskin told People.

The “Samantha Who?” star announced on Saturday that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

“To be on the show and to hear other people, it’s comforting to be around other people who’ve been through it,” said Ziskin, a breast cancer survivor herself, who has production credits for the “Spider-Man” films and the Oscars.

“This is really the vibe of the show,” she added. “I hope [Applegate] feels it. We are all there for her now, and know what she’s going through. We’re all thinking of her and praying for her.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Applegate’s cancer is not life threatening, a rep for the star confirmed. While “Samantha Who?” is not taping, Applegate is undergoing treatment.

The one-hour fundraising event will air September 5 on ABC, NBC and CBS, and feature celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep. In the process of putting the show together, Ziskin said Christina’s role may change in light of her diagnosis.

“I’m in the midst of doing the script now, and obviously because of her diagnosis that may change, but I’m looking forward to talking to her about what she can do on the show,” Ziskin said..

The optimistic producer also offered some of her own words of comfort for Christina.
