LIRR President Said to Be Interim M.T.A. Executive Director

It seems there’s no resolution yet on who will lead the M.T.A. after the departure earlier this month of executive director Elliot “Lee” Sander. Helena Williams, president of the Long Island Railroad, is expected to be named interim executive director of the agency, perhaps as early as Thursday, according to one person told of the decision.

Ms. Williams only came to her job in mid-2007, from Cablevision and before that from Nassau County.
