The BYOB Well Runs Dry at Motorino

Batali brought his own.

Sadness: You’ll no longer be allowed to tote wine to Williamsburg’s most popular BYOB destination. A general manager at Motorino tells us it doesn’t want to put its liquor-license application in jeopardy, since it’s now in the final stages (approval is expected in the next weeks) — obviously a result of those Brooklyn BYOB “seminars” (read: SLA intimidation). We’re told other restaurants in the neighborhood have been made to wait five or six months for a liquor license — which makes the new BYOB enforcement especially painful. No word on what the corner wine shop will do with its “Motovino” rack.
