On the heels of Masa slashing the price of its prix fixe and Chanterelle offering à la carte options, Eater reports that Per Se is in the planning stages of introducing an à la carte menu to its bar and café area. Meaning you’ll soon be able to drop “I was over at Per Se the other night” into way more conversations. While this is pretty big news, it’s also overdue, since buttoned-up restaurants like Le Cirque, Picholine, and Daniel have long offered more casual, wallet-friendly café experiences. In the end, this will not only initiate previously intimidated diners to Per Se, but perhaps also inspire them to move over to the dining room for the nine-course experience.
