Man vs. Phaal: Is Brick Lane Curry House's Challenge Really Phaal That?

In the latest episode of Man vs. Food, professional glutton Adam Richman visits the Brick Lane Curry House, which famously awards you a free beer if you finish the blazing-hot phaal curry. Adam Platt couldn’t do it when he reviewed the place, but plenty of people have, as evidenced by the restaurant’s P’hall of Fame (mostly dudes, as you can imagine). Still, that doesn’t prevent Richman from engaging in his usual look-at-me-mommy antics as he risks a nosebleed (that’s right, a customer suffered from rusty pipes once) in order to down the stuff. We haven’t tried it yet (and we appreciate that the chef has to wear a gas mask to prepare it), but is the curry really that much of a big deal? And what do you think of Man vs. Food, anyway? Should Richman be placed on the Feed’s “Goutwatch”?
