Mai House and Pepe Rosso Cut Back Hours

Drew Nieporent’s Mai House is currently operating just three days a week while it does some “work” (a rep tells Eater), and now we hear that yesterday, Caffe Pepe Rosso on Avenue C stopped serving breakfast and lunch on weekdays. An employee there couldn’t give a reason, but said the change might only be temporary. In the meantime, the Italian cheap-eats spot opens at 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and at 9 a.m. on Friday through Sunday. The Sullivan Street location, meanwhile, still opens at 11 a.m. on weekdays but will now be opening at 2 p.m. on weekends. “There’s no business in the morning,” an employee told us.
