Rapping didn't quite work out for Kevin Federline, but that doesn't mean he can't make the transition into clothing design made by those that came before him, ranging from the great P. Diddy to 50 Cent to Kanye West. He really is trying to launch a clothing line, as previously reported, and is in talks with Gerard Guez about a licensing deal for childrenswear. WWD reports he's hitting trade shows in Las Vegas to research for it and hunt for inspiration. But it sounds like Federline arrived with his heart full of inspiration already.
“It’s a really tough business, I’m trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans," he told WWD. He's rolling in his divorce settlement but he gets the average parent. “You buy your kids a pair of True Religions then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With this economy, I’m looking to do something much more reasonable.” Okay, maybe he doesn't. A release date and name for the line hasn't been determined. But if the line's intended for kids who like to play in the dirt, we're holding out for "Lose Control," after the first single off his debut album, Playing With Fire. And for the record, we had to Wikipedia that.
