Houston's Is Turning Japanese (a Little Bit)

Sometime in the next month (and possibly as soon as next week), the Gramercy location of meat-and-potatoes chain Houston’s will get a sushi program. Executive GM Robert Marano tells us that while the chain’s Boston, Miami, and L.A. locations sell hundreds of rolls a day, the two New York outposts have hit snags with the buildings department in trying to install a proper sushi counter. But soon the Gramercy location, at least, will be serving the following.

Classic California Roll
Shrimp & Macadamia Roll
Coconut Shrimp Roll
BBQ Eel Roll
Vegetable Roll
Thai Tuna Roll
Rainbow Roll

Hey, in a time when everyone is steering toward comfort food, it’s nice to see someone bucking the trend, even if it’s only with California rolls!
