A reader alerted us to Gordon Ramsay’s surprise appearance on American Idol last night, wondering, “Anybody at Grub Street know why he was on there?” Not officially, but we’ll hazard a guess. El Gordo’s show Hell’s Kitchen is about to get a big helping of competition from NBC’s Chopping Block, and Fox would like to remind viewers that Ramsay, not Marco Pierre White, is the original a-hole chef. Chopping Block premieres tomorrow night.
