D.J. Boulud Spinning on the Bowery?

The last two bits of intel to surface on Daniel Boulud's future blockbuster on the Bowery, DBGB (working title), were a meaty semi-reveal courtesy of Steve Cuozzo and a Plywood check-in from Eater. But while celebrating the big man's birthday on Tuesday, Food & Wine's Kate Krader scored some new, highly intriguing intel: "At Bar Boulud, some wine-world superstars opened very pricey jeroboams (the supersized bottles that you can barely pick up) of 1988 Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Champagne and Grand Cru Mommessin Clos de Tart and sang 'Happy Birthday' (the wine was a little better than the singing) while Daniel outlined plans for the DJs at his upcoming downtown beer hall DBGB." No, you wouldn't be wrong to file this under Developing. [Mouthing Off/Food & Wine]
