Bruni Bemoans Coat-Check Tickets

As a follow-up to a Times piece on avoiding the coat check during the recession, Frank Bruni investigates the burden of coat tickets by interviewing everyone from Joe Bastianich to an owner of Irving Mill. Five to twenty percent of guests lose their stubs, but the John Dory has a practice we liked, too: coats are stored according to table number. [Diner's Journal/NYT]
