Robert Duvall: I Have Trouble Funding My Projects

Legendary actor Robert Duvall, who starred in and produced indie hit “Get Low,” recently revealed to Niteside that despite his impressive resume it’s still difficult to get films financed in Hollywood.

“I have a million great projects ready to go,” Duvall said at the Wednesday night Cinema Society screening of "Get Low."

“It’s just nobody wants to spend the money to make them. I’m very proud of the projects I have gotten made, but there are many more stories that need to be told. I have a responsibility to get those works out there.”

Wednesday night The Cinema Society, in partnership with Sony’s new state-of-the-art camera Alpha Nex 5, hosted a very exclusive screening of Duvall’s most recent project “Get Low,” a highly buzzed about drama where he co-stars with Bill Murray, Sissy Spacek, and Lucas Black. The movie was shown in the posh theater of the Tribeca Grand Hotel.

After the movie Andrew Saffir, founder of The Cinema Society, moved the mass of notable attendees to The Yard of the Soho Grand Hotel for an after party that lasted after midnight.

There, Duvall and co-star Sissy Spacek sat at tables talking to family friends and colleagues. The newsmaking crowd enjoyed the open outdoor venue while sipping cocktails from the Appleton Estate-sponsored bar. Robert was heard telling a few admirers that approached him that the substantial beard he sported in the film was “make believe” and not his true hair.
