“Gossip Girl” Stylist Eric Daman Celebrates, “City” Cast Pretends to Care

Last night, at Midtown's swanky Henri Bendel, Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester of "Gossip Girl" fame hosted a celebration for newly published stylist, Eric Daman -- the man that has been sartorially transforming their characters on set of the addiction-inducing TV series for the last several years.

Daman's print endeavor, "You Know You Want It," is a style how-to guide that brings "accessible fashion" to our coffee tables backed by a resume that is sure to make any 16-year-old girl squeal. In addition to playing dress-up with the "Gossip" kids, his fashion credentials include the one time role as assistant to "Sex and the City"'s renowned Patricia Field as well as current Creative Director of the very-accessible Charlotte Russe.

The party, set on the bottom floor of the now (sadly) accessories-only boutique department store, was packed with fancy adornments, vodkas over ice and more video cameras than could actually fit in the room. The MTV production team for reality-ish "The City" was in full force at the event, making the already too loud and too bright atmosphere a little more obnoxious. Olivia Palermo, alongside Elle's Joe Zee, mingled strategically in the middle of what would have otherwise been a pretty low-key shindig.

Although the production assistant craze may have somewhat slighted the spirit of the event, the stylist-turned-author seemed pleased to take part in the on screen schmoozing.

When I asked Mr. Daman if he was enjoying himself he quickly quipped, "I'm having a great time! But more importantly," he continued, "are you having a great time?" as he slipped back up the stairs to the VIP area to join Meester and Westwick who had made themselves scarce after the one too many female group photos with the beloved Chuck Bass.
