No, Angelina Isn't Moving to Washington Heights

Actress seen scouting out apartment locations

Sorry folks, but Angelina Jolie isn't moving to Manhattan.

Washington Heights residents were abuzz after the award-winning actress was spotted looking at apartments in their neighborhood this week.

The upper Manhattan neighborhood started talking after the world's most photographed mother was seen walking out of The Riviera, a swanky co-op on 157th street and Riverside Drive, according to the Daily News.

Is she moving here? Will Angelina be our neighbor? No, gawkers, she won’t. Jolie was just scouting spots to film scenes for her upcoming movie “Edwin A. Salt.”

Robert Spitzler, a Riviera tenant, told the Daily News that movie scouts had stopped in his apartment in their hunt to find a living room to shoot a cocktail scene.

“They’re not moving,” Spitzler said of Bran-gelina, “they’re just shooting.”

Another resident speculated that an empty eight-room apartment in the building could have been selected as the home for Jolie’s character – a CIA agent mistakenly accused of being a Russian sleeper spy with a mission to kill the President.

Tenants had notes slipped under their doors notifying them that camera crews would be shooting scenes for the movie in March. The espionage thriller, directed by Phillip Noyce, is slated for release in 2010.

Building management and tenants hope Jolie's plans to film there will give the area some good exposure even if she doesn’t  add Washington Heights to her list of residences. Others just hope to get a glimpse of the star in person.

"I'm excited," resident Xiao Ryan told the Daily News. "I wouldn't miss a day of work to see her but, if I did see her, I would be excited."
