Americans Behaving Badly in Paris

Between Amber Rose's wardrobe of horrors and Chris Brown's ill-advised appearance at Jean Paul Gaultier's bloody runway show, Americans sure are getting a bad name at the shows in Paris.

Kanye West and Amber Rose are no strangers to making an entrance in the States, so it's not like we were expecting the duo to wear sleek black ensembles to the Louis Vuitton men's show. But seriously: Floor-length furs? On both of them? Seems a little over-the-top.

Even Marc Jacobs, who designs for Louis Vuitton, seemed ... speechless once he was sandwiched between the furry twosome.

Kanye (wisely) removed his fur for the actual show (it was probably quite warm in there, anyway), but Amber chose to put up her hood and emphasize the polar bear-like aspect of her look. Poor Tribune editor Suzy Menkes looks like she's trying really hard to focus on something in her handbag.

On the same day, Chris Brown attended Jean Paul Gaultier's menswear show ... which happened to be styled like a boxing match, with the models and the designer himself done up to look like they'd been pummeled. Needless to say, an ill-advised appearance on Brown's part.

The next day, Kanye and Amber were back for more at the Kriss Van Assche fashion show. This round, Kanye opted for a more pared-down Parisian look, while Amber wore ... well ... a dress made out of black dental floss.

At the Dior Homme show, Kanye was back to bathing in fur, while Amber went for a double-take-inducing crop top and denim jacket. You know you're in bad shape, wardrobe-wise, when Karl Lagerfeld makes his "concerned" face.

Oh, and for those wondering, yes that is a Louis Vuitton furry fanny-pack-slash-hand-warmer thhat Amber is wearing. Small piece of advice: If it's chilly enough for a hand warmer, maybe a belly-baring top isn't the best idea.

At the Lanvin show, even the charming Pharrell went for an outdoorsy-looking plaid shirt and Ralph Lauren puffer vest (as opposed to something more dapper). As for Amber, we'll give her some credit for wearing Alexander Wang ... though that white motorcycle with the fur "wings" was undoubtedly our least favorite piece from his fall collection.

After all that, we were shocked to discover that there were yet more horrors to come! Amber Rose's bizarre, Joan of Arc-meets-Showgirls bronze ensemble at the Chanel Haute Couture (haute couture, people!) show managed to leave us utterly speechless.

Fellow American Ciara popped into town for Givenchy's couture show, which seemed to have a calming influence on Kanye and Amber, who showed she's more than capable of looking cutting-edge and radiant in an asymmetrical bodycon dress.

To her credit, Ciara wore head-to-toe Givenchy for the fashion show, which is to be commended (even if the look wasn't particularly flattering). However! She arrived so late that the photographers apparently booed her. Poor form.
