Who: Brooklyn-born, L.A.-based Jim Bianco, who has shared bills with the likes of Patty Griffin and Imogen Heap, and has been one of the faces of the Hotel Café Tour (spawned by legendary L.A. venue of the same name) since its inception. The bawdy, bluesy singer-songwriter pops up in the documentary Sing, The Hotel Café Tour, screening shortly at the Nashville Film Festival, and that comes on the heels of releasing his third full-length album, Loudmouth, last week. An album which was entirely fan-funded, we should point out—Bianco’s fanbase is tenacious and loyal. Sample the album here, and go hear him perform at his record release party at Rockwood Music Hall (where the below video was shot) on April 14, 9:15PM.
Reminds us of: A little bit Leonard Cohen and a little bit Tom Waits
