Tickets go on sale today for Meatopia, food writer Josh Ozersky's food festival dedicated to all things meat, the "Woodstock of Edible Animals," if you will. While last year's event was plagued with long lines and food shortages, Ozersky promises the festivities this year, which takes place on July 23, will be more efficiently run. They'll be selling fewer tickets and featuring more chefs, with New York names like April Bloomfield (The Spotted Pig), Akhtar Nawab (La Esquina), and Michael White (Marea) alongside chefs from across the country like Sean Brock of Charleston's Husk and Naomi Pomeroy from Beast in Portland. But all this meat-filled glory comes at a price, and ticket prices are a bit steeper this year, starting at $85 and ranging up to $195 for an elite VIP package that includes unlimited beer, early access, and other perks.
