LES Clothier Files Suit Against J. Crew

A local clothing designer claiming rights to the phrase "Lower East Side" (yes you heard us right) is suing retail brand J. Crew for infringement by way of the above Crewcuts long-sleeve tee, reports DNA Info.

First things first: We're baffled as to how Clinton Street resident Robert G. Lopez's lawsuit stands a chance in an actual court of law.

As for the court of opinion. We'd initially dismiss this as a piggy-backing ploy for exposure...but Lopez's L.E.S clothing line -- reportedly in production since the '90s -- has no chance of impeding upon potential J. Crew shop sales, for better or worse.

And -- we assume -- vice versa.
