LCD Soundsystem Adds Four New York Dates

After what must have been a rollercoaster week of emotions for LCD Soundsystem, they have decided to extend their “Long Goodbye”. The elation the band must have felt from selling out the World’s Most Famous Arena in mere minute was marred by the obvious attempt of scalpers to ruin the party. The face and driving force of LCD Soundsystem – Mr. James Murphy – spent time making it clear to their fans that even the best laid plans can get mucked up if there are “parasites” afoot.

Following Wednesday’s sold out presale; the Friday on sale blew out in a matter of minutes. While there was a tremendous amount of buzz for the show, many, including the band, did not expect this kind of rapid response. In a matter of moments after both the presale and on sale, resale vendor sites like StubHub were advertising the sale $49.50 face value tickets for more than $1,000. In an open letter to fans that was posted on the LCD Soundsystem website, James expressed severe disappointment with the scalpers driving up prices and boxing out real fans, “We never dreamed some sh*tbags would try to get thousands for our show. It’s insane.”

LCD Soundsystem regrouped and after a concentrated deliberation, decided that the best thing to do would be to add more shows. Since there were no open dates available at Madison Square Garden, the band decided that they will perform four shows at Terminal 5 on March 28, 29, 30 and 31. Tickets for these shows will go on sale Friday, February 18 via Ticketmaster. The tickets will be available for Will Call only which means ID will be required for entry. This should help keep the scalpers out and the party people in.
