Jane's Addiction Escape to the New York Area

Perennially reuniting alternative rock pioneers Jane's Addiction have scheduled a tour of theater shows called the "Theatre of the Escapists."  They will be in the New York area, starting with a Feb. 29 stop at Rochester's Auditorium Theatre.

The band has promised an "immersive experience" according to their press representatives, who did not elaborate on what that means. Besides dancers, who will be in abundance at these shows, as they always are at Jane's Addiction shows. Maybe it has something to do with the 3-D technology they were messing around with at a New York show over the summer. But who even knows when it comes to Perry Farrell?

Tickets go on sale Jan. 14. These shows will be in support of last year's The Great Escape Artist, which. like their last reunion album Strays. was uneven but had a number of songs that could sound suitably epic when performed live, and if you disagree they'll play "Mountain Song" and all will be well.
