Hudson Yards Reminds Us It Still Exists With New Renderings

Javits expansion? Kaput. Moynihan Station? Floating in purgatory. The 7-train extension? Chopped from two stations down to one. But all is not doom and gloom in the redevelopment of the West Side. Hudson Yards is still kicking, and to prove it, the Hudson Yards Development Corporation unveiled the five designs vying to be selected for the future West Side Boulevard—which will run from 33rd to 42nd Streets between Tenth and Eleventh Avenues, right up the middle of Related's megadevelopment (much to the chagrin of Chuck Schumer). The Post has all the scoop and a photo gallery with a glimpse of each finalist's proposal, but the full designs will be on display at 536 La Guardia Place beginning on Thursday. A winner will be chosen in October, and the first phase of the boulevard is expected to be completed in 2013, give or take a financial collapse or two.
