Rachel Rachel Roy designed this casual Eco-tec yarn cardigan as part of her new program - Rachel Roy: Recycled Reused. The initiative creates products from recycled and reclaimed materials. Cri de Coeur
The Cri de Coeur Alexa bootie, $294 at Nimli, has a slightly mod silhouette, but better yet, it’s completely animal cruelty-free. This peep-toe platform beauty, er, bootie, is made from natural canvas and faux patent leather trim. In fact, all of shoes in the Cri de Coeur line, designed by Gina Ferraraccio, are lovingly vegan.
Bodkin/La Garçonne
Bodkin designer and ex-Vogue staffer Eviana Hartman channels the mood of her native Brooklyn with her edgy but super simple silhouettes in earthy-friendly fabrications. The Nimbus tunic by Bodkin, $288 at La Garçonne, made from organic cotton chambray, has wide shoulders that can be worn out or cinched with a button tab.

Even designer-laden sample sale site Gilt Groupe is celebrating Earth Day. On Thursday, April 22nd, a portion of the proceeds from the Eco-Chic Sale will be donated to the National Audubon Society and The Nature Conservancy. Instead of contributing to the rise in fabric excess, Brigid Catiis designer Raissa Gerona designs dresses from upcycled vintage silk that she deconstructs, reconditions, and recrafts. Donna Karan, who's all about organic these days, perfects a slouchy style with this luscious Bandito bag, $1,295 at Net-a-Porter. The bag is fashioned from organic lambskin from North African animals that lived on a chemical-free farm. Yes, a lamb was slaughtered, but at least the leather is allergen-free and completely recyclable.
EDUN, launched back in 2005 by Bono and his wife Ali Hewson seeks to build underdeveloped nations as viable fashion production locales. The Lily dress in Flutter print by EDUN, $395 at EDUN is 100 percent silk, made in India.
