GO Burger to Open on the UES

Later this week, BLT corporate chef Rodelio Aglibot unveils Go Burger on the Upper East Side. The new model picks up where the restaurant group left off with the BLT Burger chain, whose name refers to ex-partner Laurent Tourondel. Like its West Village predecessor (which will remain unchanged), GO Burger puts specialty burgers and milkshakes on a pedestal, but there are now Cobb salads and comfort food entrees like fried chicken and mac n' cheese.

The space itself is open and bright, with plans for sidewalk seating come spring. Aglibot is most excited about over-the-top hybrids like the "UltiMELT," which sandwiches a patty between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Watch as Aglibot demos a few burgers on the griddle. As for that nearby outpost of Danny Meyer's beloved chain, Aglibot isn't too worried: "We're more of a restaurant than a 'shack.'"
