G ‘N' R Shoot Blanks

Best Buy called "Chinese Democracy" the most anticipated album of all time, but then they'd say that wouldn't they? It was anticipated enough to have a review on NPR's "Morning Edition" this morning (even AC/DC didn't get that). But then Rock and Roll Daily on Rolling Stone reporteda less than a momentous arrival at New York area Best Buys.

The "Morning Edition" review, and what was good about it, highlights everything that is right and wrong with the album. Or the fact that there even is a Guns and Roses album. Reviewer Stephen Thompson likens the album to Jaws without his teeth:

After all these years, hearing it is like finally seeing the monster at the end of a horror movie: It's no longer a mystery, but at least now, the real action begins.

Once you play the record (sorry, 17 years is a long time, download the album or play the CD) the happiness might last about as long as the fizz in that free Dr Pepper.
