Former Victim Helps Police Find Sex Assault Suspect

Suspect was recently paroled after three prior sex assault convictions

Police arrested a suspect in the attempted sexual assault of a Connecticut teenager after getting a tip from a former victim on Tuesday.

Eric Julian, 26, is accused of attempting to sexually assault a 16-year-old girl as she walked home from a Fairfield High School on Friday.

Julian is a convicted sex offender who was paroled two months ago after serving four and half years in prison for three prior sexual assaults in 2002. All three crimes were committed within weeks of each other.

Police said Julian told the Fairfield teen he had a knife, forced her to into a backyard and began taking her clothes off. He fled when the girl refused to stop screaming and she was able to escape without injury, according to police.

Police were tipped off after a victim from one of his 2002 crimes called Fairfield police to tell them her assailant matched the description and had recently been paroled. Julian was convicted of kidnapping the unidentified woman in Bridgeport and sexually assaulting her in Fairfield six years ago.
