Food Network Abandons Studio Tour Plans

Kitchen Stadium to remain off-limits

Sorry, Charlie.

No tours for you.

The Food Network today said it has abandoned plans to offer regular public tours of its studio and test kitchens in Chelsea.

The Network offered a few experimental tours about four months ago, with hopes the feedback would produce a way to offer regular studio treks.

And while the public responded favorably, got to see "Kitchen Stadium" and even got to snap pictures of celebrity chefs, it wasn't a recipe for success.

"Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer paid public tours in the future. Although we received very positive feedback from tour attendees, our studios are working studios and ongoing tours would interfere with our ability to deliver top-notch programming to our viewers," the network states in an e-mail quoted at NewYorkology.
